Huron-Wendat Day with Heritage Toronto

Heritage Toronto, The City of Toronto, Cycle Toronto, BIXI Toronto and ASI came together on Saturday June 15th to honour the Huron-Wendat’s ancestral presence in the region of Toronto by unveiling a series of plaques dedicated to sharing that presence. The plaques are found along the “Huron-Wendat Trail” (or the Finch Hydro Corridor) and Dr. Williamson led a bike tour after the celebration to show them off and discuss each one in detail. It was an honour to have many of the Huron Wendat people come down from Wendake, QC on Saturday, and Mayor Rob Ford has officially declared June 15th as Huron-Wendat Day!
