Historical pre-1835 Hand painted ceramics : look for monochrome blue decorations or early palette which are earth colours such as olive green, brown, or mustard yellow Evenly scalloped blue or green edgeware 1800-1835, this plate is made of pearlware which has a slightly greenish undertone and dates pre 1830s Hand-wrought Nails Olde Blue decoration is very diagnostic, other types of transfer print are also mostly rendered in blue during this era Creamware has a yellowish buttery colour, and frequently has moulded rims Embossed edgeware 1820-1830s Canary ware has a refined white body with a bright yellow glaze Typical teacup shapes are the Chinese or common shaped teacup (1800-1820) and the London shape (1820-1840)
