Late Woodland 800-1650 C.E. Groups moved to larger formal village. Multiple kinship groups lived together permanently for the first time. Agriculture was introduced and gradually became an integral contribution to the diet, with corn, beans and squash being the main crops. Hunting, fishing and wild plant collecting also remained important. Typical sites range from small artifact scatters which are likely a variety of special purpose sites, to large village settlements with multiple houses and palisades.
